"Holding to the faithful word, which is according to the teaching of the apostles, that he may be able both to exhort by the healthy teaching and to convict those who oppose." - Titus 1:9

INTRODUCTION

The Lord's move on this earth is through His unique ministry, and we are all participating in this unique ministry. In the New Testament there is only one ministry and only one leadership in the ministry. This is not the leadership of one controlling person or an organization; rather, it is in the leadership of one controlling revelation in the one ministry through those who bring in the revelation of the ministry. This ministry began by the Lord and continued by the apostles, is in the sphere of the apostles’ teaching that controls and restricts us in the New Testament. It is the basis for all our teaching and service. The Acts in 2:42 tells us clearly that led by the apostles, the New Testament church continued steadfastly in the teaching and the fellowship of the apostles, to which Brother Witness Lee had this footnote:

“Besides the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, the believers in Christ should not have any other teaching and fellowship. In God’s New Testament economy there is only one category of teaching revealed and recognized by God—the teaching of the apostles—and only one category of fellowship that is of God and is acceptable to Him—the fellowship of the apostles, which is with the Father and the Son, Jesus Christ (1 John 1:3 and note 3), and which is the unique fellowship of the unique church, the Body of Christ.” (Witness Lee, The New Testament Recovery Version, Acts 2:42 fn1, LSM)

We must be very careful with our teaching, especially more so when it comes to publications that offer to teach. Anyone serving the Lord may be led to minister Christ to others, even to write something of what the Lord has shown him. Others may even be burdened to distribute what has been written in publications or through the internet. However, we must bear in mind that not everything that is written or published contributes to the oneness of the Body and to the building up of the Body. As a matter of fact, many things that have been written by a number of ministers and workers have issued in the tearing down rather than the building up of the Body and are divisive rather than contributing to and being a part of the unique oneness of the Body of Christ according to the teaching of the apostles in the New Testament ministry. It is with this perspective that we exercise to be limited and restricted by the principle and practice of one publication work in the Lord’s recovery as led by brothers Nee and Lee, because the publication work mainly involves teaching and the sounding of the trumpet in the Lord’s ministry. This does not mean that individuals have no right to write or publish, but that in the broader context and view of the oneness and one accord of the Body of Christ and its building being the overriding principle in the New Testament ministry, we would want to be sure that there is no uncertain sound in the trumpeting in the ministry that may tear down instead of build up, that may sow confusion instead of provide clear direction.

Brother Lee himself cautioned us:

“What is taught or preached by the workers, however, should be restricted. The leadership is very much needed in this area. In the recovery in God's ministry, there is no freedom to preach whatever we like to preach or to teach whatever we like to teach. Our preaching and our teaching have to be restricted under the leadership by the revelation of God's New Testament economy. If someone in the Lord's recovery began to teach, stress, or promote something contrary to or different from God's New Testament economy, there would be the need of some leadership to restrict this. Then there would be no confusion. There would never be confusion in the Lord's recovery if all of us had a clear revelation of the ministry in God's New Testament economy.” (Witness Lee, Leadership in the New Testament, Chapter 2, Section 2, LSM)

This principle applies both to writers or publishers and to readers as well. His words serve as a clear warning and reminder for us not to just get into any publication that comes along, but rather to dive into the Word as revealed through the ministry to be equipped and inoculated against erroneous teachings and unhealthy words that thrive in many of these writings and websites that are not in the principle of one publication work in the Lord’s recovery.

In 1 Timothy 1:3-4 Paul charged Timothy to remain in Ephesus with a definite purpose, so that he may charge the dissenting ones not to teach the things different from the economy of God in faith. He had to charge these ones not to teach things that were different from the apostles' teaching. Any minister who preaches or teaches should carry out his service as part of our unique testimony and work. Otherwise, this preacher or this minister should be limited, and the saints at large should be warned against the different teachings being propounded. Each one should be limited or restricted in the apostles' teaching, which serves as the leadership of the God-given revelation that restricts us, directs us, and controls us so that confusion and division can be avoided.

Towards this end, we offer the healthy teaching in this website to the saints and churches to cut straight the word of the truth. The contents of this website are articles that confirm and defend the apostles’ teaching that have been under attack, and corrections to erroneous teachings, misaiming, deformations of the Word, and misquotations from the ministry of brothers Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, by the website "seekers of God's desire," which is operated by a sister worker who has not kept the order in the divine administration by teaching with authority (1 Tim. 2:11-12) and in redefining certain truths and practices, publishing freely in an unrestricted way over the past year, subverting God’s authority in the work and in the churches by publicly and privately vilifying the co-workers and elders, sowing seeds of suspicion and dissension through outright attacks or innuendoes in her writings, and carrying out a private work that is neither answerable to the Body nor takes the Body as its governing principle.

It is our hope and assurance that the truth presented will light a path to clear up the confusion created by the different teachings and eccentric practices being purveyed in the dissenting sister’s website, so that the saints may hold on to the faithful word, which is according to the teaching of the apostles, that we may be able to exhort by the healthy teaching and to convict those who oppose (Titus 1:9). By continuing steadfastly in the teaching and fellowship of the apostles under the unique ministry of the New Testament, may we all keep the crucial oneness and one accord by receiving one revelation and taking one way to reach one goal.
