"Holding to the faithful word, which is according to the teaching of the apostles, that he may be able both to exhort by the healthy teaching and to convict those who oppose." - Titus 1:9

To all the saints and to all the churches in the Lord’s recovery,

We derive no pleasure and are deeply grieved in having done of late what we, the elders of the church in Malabon, would have never wanted to do in a lifetime with regard to our shepherding of the flock of God and seeing to the oneness of the Body of Christ.

Nevertheless, as strongly demanded by availing circumstances, we were left with no other recourse, if only to remain faithful to the apostles’ teaching and to the Word, but to mark out a very dear member of the Body, a strong sister who had undeniably labored indefatigably and zealously for the furtherance of the gospel, one who could very well be a precious building material for the building up of the Body had she not become exceedingly puffed up and proud owing to the assumed and presumed successes of her endeavors.

We refer to Sister Charing Garcia whom we have marked out based on Romans 16:17 and 2 Timothy 2:25, thus:

Rom. 16:17 - Now I exhort you, brothers, to mark those who make divisions and causes of stumbling contrary to the teaching which you have learned, and turn away from them.

2 Tim. 2:25 – In meekness correcting those who oppose, if perhaps God may give them repentance unto the full knowledge of the truth.

Sister Charing’s penchant for teaching differently and blatant deviations from both the facts and truths in the Bible, her divisive ways of working and private work, and her undermining activities compelled us to re-examine our otherwise lenient attitude toward her and to take a more watchful stance. When it became apparent that she was spawning an outbreak of the infectious germs of divisiveness and concocting the poison of rebellion, much to the detriment of the oneness of the Body and of the unsuspecting saints, we sent her a letter dated May 2, 2010 that clearly enumerates her deviant teachings, divisive undertakings, and undermining activities, and thereby marked her out according to the admonition and teaching of the apostles.

Allow us to point out that the marking out did not come easy for us. The decision to do so was forged only after much consideration before the Lord and over a long period of fellowship with the co-workers and elders in Metro Manila and Regions I to VI, even with some co-workers from Southern Philippines and Taiwan, and taking into consideration the feeling of some of the blending brothers. It really pained us no end to have to carry out the marking out, for we know that we ourselves would have to consequently endure the suffering out of our genuine concern and affection for her. But if it is any consolation to our burdened hearts, we were comforted by the fact that the feeling of the Body on the matter of marking out was unanimous.

We waited to see in Sister Charing the fruit of repentance (Luke 3:8). But to our dismay, it was not forthcoming. Instead of realizing that it is lawlessness, rebellion, and disobedience for anyone to damage the Body, the sister’s response to our letter of warning indicated that she regrettably failed to see the light. Her attack became more vicious, her vilification of the elders of the church in Malabon and others became more intense, and her intemperance and utter lack of self restraint more glaringly showed. While vehemently denying that many of her teachings were erroneous and deviant, she had the audacity to turn the table on us by claiming that we are the ones causing division. She maliciously persisted in using the revered name of Brother Liu to justify her actions and draw sympathy from the uninformed saints while at the same time putting us in a bad light.

Dear saints, we declare unequivocally that the many accusations being made by Sister Charing against us are either outright false or half-truths, and are apparent products of her fertile imagination and delusions.

We are furnishing herewith all the churches with our May 2, 2010 letter of warning to Sister Charing Garcia that all may be informed and warned of the spiritual disease that is threatening to inflict damage to the Body.

We admonish the saints not to read the materials published and spread by Sister Charing in printed form and in the Internet. Such materials are filled with questionings and contentions of words which spread spiritual sickness and death. Let us stand firmly with the testimony of oneness in the Lord’s unique recovery. Let us pray that our dear Sister Charing and those who sympathize with her will receive mercy from God and make a genuine turn from their error to once again follow the footsteps of the flock. Amen.

Your brothers in Christ,

The elders of the church in Malabon:

JACINTO CHUA JOSE LIM THOMAS PE

FRED BONDOC JUN CRUZ BERT DE LEON
