An Open Letter of Affirmation from
the Churches in Metro Manila to the Letters of Quarantine from the Co-workers in Northern Philippines and the Elders of the Church in Malabon
June 16, 2010
To the saints and churches in the Lord’s recovery,
We, the undersigned responsible brothers serving in the churches in Metro Manila, would like to issue this response to the May 25, 2010 letter of the elders of the church in Malabon and the May 26, 2010 letter of the co-workers in Northern Philippines calling for the quarantine of Sister Charing Garcia and those who actively disseminate her different teachings and spread her divisive work. We are one in affirming the necessity of quarantining the divisive ones. Moreover, we agree with the detailed points presented in the letters of warning as the bases for taking this serious action.
We treasure that we have been so blessed and still continue to be spiritually supplied by the unique New Testament ministry that carries out God’s economy and builds up the Body of Christ (Eph. 4:12). Together, we reaffirm our intent to be faithful to the heavenly vision by continuing steadfastly in the teaching and fellowship of the apostles (Acts 2:42), and by taking heed to ourselves and to all the flock of God that we are shepherding (Acts 20:28), so that we may fulfill this ministry that the Lord has entrusted to us (Col. 4:17) without deviation.
We recognize that the blessing, protection, speaking, supply and authority are all in the Body. Even in the rejection of different teachings and in turning away from the factious ones, we can and must stand as one for the testimony of the universal Body of Christ.
May the Lord continue to preserve us in the central lane of God’s New Testament economy for the building up of His organic Body and the preparation of His glorious Bride.
Standing for His recovery,
Representing the churches in Metro Manila,
