- What Makes Philadelphia a Laodicea?
In one of her recent articles, the dissenting sister nitpicked on two of what she claims to be the elders’ decisions which she opposes: an alleged prohibition against immediately baptizing newly saved ones and the sequence of the prophesying meeting and the bread-breaking meeting. She further inferred that "Philadelphia has become Laodicea” in her locality based on the items she presented. But contrary to what the sister is teaching, the fall of the church from a condition of Philadelphia to Laodicea has nothing to do with how soon new ones are baptized or the sequence of meetings. Brothers Watchman Nee and Witness Lee taught us to pay attention to the facts in the Bible. Every word in the Scriptures serves a divine purpose. We need to discover the facts in the Bible – descriptions, numbers, modifiers, verbs, nouns, etc. Everything about the Bible is an important part of God's message, not only what it says but also what it does not say, the smallest details, even the repetition.
