Brother Witness Lee faithfully warned co-workers against doing their own work surreptitiously while apparently participating in the work of the ministry in the Lord’s recovery. A dissenting sister, who insists on operating her own website to air her views, teach, and critique the leadership in the work and among the churches, narrowly and improperly specified her own set of criteria of what a “work within a work” is to absolve herself against the pronouncement of Brother Liu Chi-cheng that her work falls under such a work. This article delves into the ministry and presents Brother Lee’s five indicators to check if one is doing the unique work of the ministry and the seventeen markers of one who is doing his own work within the work. The analysis of the sister’s work vis-à-vis excerpts from the ministry and the examples of the Lord and of His faithful servants shows conclusively that “a work within the work” is not a misnomer but is in fact a fitting description of her work as reflected in the website "seekers of God's desire".
